Alan Ruck Biography
Alan Ruck (born July 1, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American stage, television and film actor. Ruck is perhaps best known for his role as Cameron Frye, Ferris Bueller's hypochondriac best friend in John Hughes' Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986). Although he played a 17 year old, he was the age of 29 at the time.

He notably played Captain John Harriman of the USS Enterprise-B in Star Trek: Generations, a role which he will be reprising along with Generations costar Walter Koenig and other Trek alums in the upcoming fan film Of Gods And Men [1]. He also played a passenger on the ill-fated bus in the blockbuster Speed (both 1994). Another supporting role was of the eccentric storm chaser Robert 'Rabbit' Nurick in the 1996 disaster film Twister. His most recent work in film was as Steve Martin's neighbor in Cheaper by the Dozen (2003).

His TV roles include Stuart Bondek, a humorously perverted, power-hungry member of the mayor's staff on the former ABC sitcom Spin City. He was recently cast in the Tim Minear-created FOX series Drive. He also starred in one episode of the Comedy Central sitcom Stella as Richard, a man looking for work.

He attended Parma Senior High School located in Parma, Ohio and is a graduate of the University of Illinois. He currently lives in Rockland County, New York. He was divorced from Claudia in 2005, and has two children, Emma and Sam.
